Paddi McGrath is a Vancouver, BC mixed media artist, living on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish people, including the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Finding inspiration in the natural world within urban settings, she uses oil and acrylic paint, printmaking, and collage to create her pieces.

Her work often reflects themes of nature, storytelling, and whimsy. She explores the connections between these elements, often blending them into narratives within her art. The visual richness of the West Coast, and the many urban forests within our cities provide ample fodder for her work. Paddi is also drawn to the resourceful city wildlife that coexist with us in the heart of the city.

In addition to her personal practice, she works as an art facilitator. Paddi collaborates with vulnerable seniors, war veterans, and individuals with disabilities, witnessing the positive impact of art on their lives.

She is also a founding member of Magpie’s Nest Community Art Space. Here, she focuses on community art projects and workshops for all ages, emphasizing upcycling while acknowledging the power of art to bring people together.

Through her art and community involvement, Paddi aims to share the beauty and fragility of the natural world and inspire others to find their own creativity.
